On this private tour you will learn about Vienna’s in and around historic places, architectural buildings, cultural activities around the famous over 150 years old Wiener Ring Strasse. Following visit to the over 300 years old Hapsburg summer residence and UNESCO World Heritage site “Schoenbrunn Palace”. We also visit the Seegrote and take a boat ride on Europe’s largest underground lake. Seegrotte is a former Gypsum mine located in Hinterbrühl.
On this tour we first cover the Vienna’s old city center Inner Stadt district with the Stephansdom Cathedral surrounded by the Ring Strasse ring road. We drive around the Ring Strasse to get to know the Museum of Applied Arts, the Vienna State Opera House, the Museum of Art History, the Museum of Natural History, the Hofburg Imperial Palace, the Spanish Horse Riding School, the Parliament, the Burgtheater (National Theatre), the Rathaus(Town Hall) , the Votive Church, the Württemberg Palace (now Hotel Imperial), we also make short visit to Belvedere Palace. In Vienna so many buildings look as if they are important palaces.
The main highlight of the tour, we visit the magnificent Baroque palace Schloss Schönbrunn, former imperial summer residence with 1441 rooms and it’s beautiful gardens and ancient zoo is one of the most visited historical, architectural and cultural sights in Austria, and a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site. It was built as the summer residence for the Empress Maria Theresa.
The second part of the tour we visit the Seegrotte. It started as a Gypsum mine and during World War II was used for the production of aircraft “Heinkel Werke” by the German military forces, is the largest underground lake in Europe. Here you have a chance to enjoy the boat ride on underground lake, as well as lunch break before or after visiting the Seegrotte.
The final part of the tour depends on the timing, please discuss with your chauffeur guide. May be to visit some of the important sites around Vienna’s famous Ring Strasse.
