Itinerary

Driving via German valleys through the Bavarian countryside we first reach the alpine town of Zell am See hiking and skiing paradise, it became a world famous tourist destination as well as a climatic health resort since 1961. It is picturesquely situated between Lake Zellersee and the mountain Schmittenhöhe. Just further on, outside the little village of Kaprun the lift system takes you up the mountain, a succession of lifts to reach the summit station, Gipfelwelt 3000, at 3029m (9938ft) “Top of Salzburg” directly above the glacier of Mount Kitzsteinhorn, covered with natural snow throughout the year.
At “Top of Salzburg” enjoy the spectacular views from Salzburg’s highest viewing panorama platform, strolling on the glacier snow beach, make a snowman or have a snowball fight. From the panorama terrace Glocknerkanzel you can have a breathtaking view on to Austria’s highest mountain Großglockner and many other snow capped peaks of the Alps, most of them not so far away. Enjoy the Hohe Tauern National Park Nature scenes at Cinema 3000 a film shown on an 8 meters screen, after your choice for a drink or a snack at the panorama restaurant.
The tour is not ended yet! On the way back to Salzburg we pass by many Austrian villages and the ski region Gasteinertal and St.Johann im Pongau, the Werfen Castle (movie location of “Where Eagles Dare”) and the world’s largest Ice Caves.
Then we return to Salzburg and you will be dropped off near Mirabel Gardens.

Please be prepared there 30 min. prior to tour start (morning tour at 08:30 and for afternoon tour 13:30) for pick-up. You either can be the 1^st ones to be picked up or within a certain time-frame depending on the pick-up round and traffic.
Additional hours on request, when possible each extra hour cost Euro 90/-.
Some of tours need to cross over the country border, in case of border control we recommend you to carry passport.
