This Small Group Minivan Tour takes you to The Eagle’s Nest, the King’s Lake and Berchtesgaden town. The Eagles Nest was commissioned by senior National Socialist (Nazi) party staff. It was used by senior Nazis for relaxation and for Hitler to bring foreign dignitaries and diplomats to impress them with the spectacular views, an integral tool for the Third Reich. It is inseparably linked with World War II and its history. The road up to reach it is unique and a milestone in road construction.

Itinerary

We leave Salzburg, soon we cross over the Austrian-German border and follow the valley of the river Königseeache towards Berchtesgaden Nationalpark until we turn off to go steeply up the mountain to Obersalzberg and the Eagle’s Nest.
Depending on the weather conditions, from Eagles Nest you will have a breathtaking panoramic views up to 200km! Points to note are the main presentation room, Eva Braun’s Tea room, the archive photograph gallery and maybe the short walk up the hill to the cross with its carved Edelweiss.
The second part of the tour you will take the scenic boat ride on the King’s Lake, the Jewel of the Bavarian Alps. It is the deepest lake in Germany with depths of up to 190m, with the famous St. Bartholomew chapel on a romantic peninsula, accessible only by boat. This emerald-green, fjord-like lake is towered over by the steep rock walls of Mount Watzmann. The lake stands for natural beauty, silence, a grand echo and much more.
You can reflect on the beauty and magnificence of the scenery or the historical importance of what you have seen on the way back. We will drive you through the charming little town Berchtesgaden with its royal palace and through picturesque countryside back to Salzburg.

Please be prepared there 30 min. prior to tour start (morning tour at 08:30 and for afternoon tour 13:30) for pick-up. You either can be the 1^st ones to be picked up or within a certain time-frame depending on the pick-up round and traffic.
Additional hours on request, when possible each extra hour cost Euro 90/-.
Some of tours need to cross over the country border, in case of border control we recommend you to carry passport.
