At Wattens near Innsbruck Swarovski Crystal Worlds is the visitor centre that whisks its guests away into a world of fiction with the Magic of Crystals. Combined with Innsbruck the historic Imperial City, the “Capital of the Alps” and twice host to the Winter Olympics this day trip is full of great impressions all-year-round.
A water-spouting Giant welcomes and lures you into an interior full of light and wonders, magic and surprises. It is fascinating for the young and the young at heart as well as for all who love crystals in elaborate form. Being at Swarovski Crystal Worlds is an event: the Giant and the 16 Chambers of Wonder, the Garden, Crystal Clouds, the Playtower, Playground and Maze. Extraordinary objects, insights and outlooks. Crystal works of art by internationally renowned artists. Even the Crystal Store is an exhibition in itself, with some items unique to the Wattens site.
From Wattens we head for Innsbruck, the “Capital of the Alps”. It is a beautiful old city surrounded by the high mountains of the Tyrolean Alps. In olden days it was at times the seat of the Holy Roman Empire and thus leaves us a lot of impressive buildings and a charming townscape. On this tour we will take you to the very centre of the city where you can stroll around on your own and discover Innsbruck’s old town attractions, such as the Golden Roof, St. Anna’s Column, the Imperial Palace and Gardens, the Imperial Court Church and an option is also to visit the Grassmayr Bell Foundry with 400 years of history. Grassmayr Bells can be heard in countries all over the world. The Bell Museum shows in a unique way the history and the art of the Bell Foundry combined with a Sound Room. Many guests consider it to be a great experience which shouldn’t be missed.
On the way back to Salzburg we follow the river Inn until near Rosenheim and then pass the lake Chiemsee, (home to King Ludwig’s palace on Herrenchiemsee Island). We can enjoy the Bavarian Alpine scenery all the way to Salzburg.
