This uniqe tour offers you many sights and experiences to behold: an overwhelming view far into two countries (and maybe also a deeper insight) from 1800m on the plateau of the powerful Table Mountain Untersberg, shrouded in legend; the King’s Lake with its peninsula accessible only by boat, an attraction for artists for hundreds of years; an easy walk through the “Enchanted Forest” along lake Hintersee. Outstanding places provide outstanding experiences.

First from the city of Salzburg we head south towards the Untersberg mountain. This mountain is one of the most striking sources for myths in Austria and Southern Germany. Untersberg belongs partly to the Berchtesgaden National Park, the only German National Park in the Alps. Spiritual minds even call Untersberg the Heart Chakra of the world and a place of power. By a 10 minute cable-car ride from St.Leonard on the Austrian side, you will be taken up to the plateau. From there you can enjoy breathtaking views far into Austria and Germany.
On the way to the King’s Lake we drive along the Königseeache river and pass the 17th century Schnaps distillery Grassl, the oldest Gentian Schnaps distillery in Germany. Up on our right we pass the small town of Berchtesgaden which gives its name to this region of Bavaria and of the Alps. On a fine weather day there are good views looking up at the Eagle’s Nest.
On an electric-powered boat you can leave the noisy and busy everyday life behind and enjoy Germany’s deepest and cleanest lake. This Jewel of the Bavarian Alps was favoured by the Bavarian kings when they spent their holidays at Berchtesgaden’s Royal Palace. (Hence the name) The emerald-green, fjord-like lake is towered over by steep walls of rock, this gives rise to is another special feature: the echo. On a peninsula is the landmark of King’s Lake, the ancient Augustine chapel St. Bartholomew.
After the King’s Lake we head for Hintersee, another lake. The road takes us through more beautiful scenery passing the village of Ramsau but Hintersee and its Enchanted Forest will capture your imagination. This lake and the forest are something one has to experience on foot, so we design the tour in a way that you can stroll through this wonderful gift of nature alongside the lake. It will take about 30 minutes. You will feel as if in a fairytale and it will be a pure nature experience in the open air.
Our return trip we take the panoramic route bringing us back to Salzburg.
